Farewell Illinois; Hello Florida!

I love Illinois! I love the Midwest! I pray I will love Florida! But then again, I have loved every place we have lived. (Yes, Jim, I admit some more than others.) God has always provided for me—new friends, a warm and welcoming church, a mission.  So I look forward to the new and exciting life we will have as permanent residents of North Fort Myers.

We are having an Estate Sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday (August 15, 16, 17). Everything must go!  https://www.estatesales.net/IL/Chicago/60612/2315529

We are closing on our Crystal Lake house August 27.  So this will be my last post for awhile.  Please keep in touch. We still love seeing all the photos you send and seeing how your babies have grown.

See our babies below: Zoe, our DSH, 15; Zeke, our Australian Shepherd, 12; and our Siberians, Sophie, age 7 and Maggie, age 5.

If you are ever in Southwest Florida, we would love to have you visit. Come join Sophie by the pool!

Farewell. It was our pleasure to know you as you have given us a wonderful pet in “Sugar”. After the Winter we had last year I am surprised Illinois has any residents left. Enjoy the weather, the pool, and the sunshine. Fondly, Sandi, Tony and Sugar Rasmussen >

    Hi, Nancy,

All I can say is that the midwest will miss you. It was so nice just knowing you were there.

I hope Florida is all you need and want. I know you had a place there, so I’m sure you know it well and will settle in with joy and comfort.

p.s. loved the photos of your fur babies.

Where’s Lily? Am I misremembering that you kept her when you retired from breeding?

    • She is living a great life with a lady in central Illinois who has grandchildren to give Lily loads of attention and she brings much happiness to her new “mama.”

    Hello Nancy and Jim,
Best of luck in Florida! I’ll be thinking of you fondly in warm sunny Florida as the weather up here in Oregon turns wet and chilly. Thank you again for our beautiful girl, Saffron. She seems very at home among the 100 ft. conifers that surround our new home. She made the 2,700 mile trip last year quite well perched between the two kids in the car. Thanks for all of your advice. Saffron even visited three National parks in the process.

    Take care, Kathryn
