Time on my hands!

Comfortable, Niko? (Thanks, Nikki)

It is 12 Noon on a Tuesday and I’m lying in bed with the pillows propped up eating the little bag of pretzels they give you on the airplane.  And I don’t even feel guilty!

This is the first time in months I don’t have anything else to do. So how did I arrive at this luxurious moment? My son asked if I would “babysit” for ten days while he and his wife went on vacation to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.

So after church on Sunday, I went to the grocery store, stocked up on Marie Callendar pot pies and Hungry Man dinners (when my husband is alone, he requires gourmet cuisine!) and did a couple weeks worth of laundry. On Monday morning I did a whirlwind clean of our house and by 1:45 p.m. I was on a plane flying from Chicago to Charlotte, NC.

My only mission today was to get my soon-to-be-freshman grandson, Jack, to cross country practice by 7:30 a.m.  Granddaughters Emma and Mary both have jobs which they can drive to by themselves. And we decided on pizza for supper so my day is basically done! And I have time to actually read emails and look at all the posts on Facebook.

I decided to share with you a cat related educational email and Facebook posts that tickled my funnybone (do they actually say that anymore?).

Received an email re hairballs that has helpful information.

The above two funnies are not Semper Fi Siberians but are shared to give you a laugh for today!

Thanks, Chuck, for sharing this photo of Raz.

And speaking of litter, I have found a new brand I really like. Never thought I would recommend anything but Dr. Elsey’s but I tried this and it is my new favorite. It is available at Amazon and Chewy.  Both have mixed reviews but I decided to try it. For me there is far less tracking and has good odor control (maybe my nose isn’t as sensitive as others) but the biggest help is the ease of removing the clumps from the litter box. With my previous litter, it was like the clumps were cemented to the bottom and sides of the box.  The ease of scooping and easier washing of the litter box is worth the extra cost to me.

Have a great week! I know I will!

Nancy – Thank you for the recommendation for BoxiePro! Works beautifully! I especially like the finer consistency so “bits and pieces” are easier to find and remove! No dust either. Love it!

    Hi Nancy and Jim,
What other place would you recommend for an orange tabby kitten? Ed is thinking that Sly may need a playmate. Thanks so much, Kathy
