National Cat Day

“For spoiled kitties and their doting owners, every day is cat day, but officially, Oct. 29 is National Cat Day.

Colleen Paige, a pet expert, founded the holiday. The holiday is designed to improve the welfare of cats across the country by encouraging adoption, donating to shelters and advocacy groups and by feeding cats healthy food.” Joy Johnston, Cox Media Group

How can a Siberian cat blogger not post on National Cat Day?  My plan was to post many photos of our cats that have been sent to us by our pet parents during the last several weeks. BUT something happened to most of the photos when I purchased a new computer. The saleslady at the store promised me she would handle everything and my new computer would be  just like my old one only faster.  That has not happened. Yes, it is faster, but probably the reason is because most of my data is not on it!  If I ever get a few extra hours, there will be a revisit to the computer store.

So instead of the photos I planned on, we have for your viewing pleasure photos of our newest 12 kittens who are two weeks old today for Magdalena’s litter and tomorrow for Sophia’s litter.

Before we look at those photos, I want to give you an update on Sly.  Many of you have been so kind to let me know you have been praying for him and his family and have asked for an update.

Sly’s family has let us know that he is doing well! They take him back to the hospital for a check on Monday.  Enjoy  some more photos of this great little guy as he convalesces.

Sly loves his blanket when he naps.

Playing with his frozen washcloth and his toy with the tail cut off! (one of the ideas I gave them for a teething kitten is to have some rolled up wet washcloths in the freezer. When you give the kitten one it is soothing on his gums. Be sure to watch though because you do not want him chewing and swallowing the washcloth.)

Sly got tired after watching our Cubs lose. He is like a little baby; he loves us to hold him.

I know all join us in continuing our prayers for Sly and thanking the family for keeping us updated on his progress.

And now for the kittens!

Magdalena gave us a balanced litter – three boys and three girls:

But Sophia decided to throw us a curve ball (Cubs talk!) and gave us all boys! So how could I not give them Cubs players’ names!

  1. Well I sure made a mistake when I was introducing Magdalena’s kittens. There are three boys and three girls for a total of six!
