Gold Medal E. coli Outbreak

You may think this is strange that you come to a Siberian kitten blog and you read about an E. coli outbreak that has nothing to do with cats. As most of my followers know I am notified whenever the FDA announces a recall on pet foods. What you may not realize is that my notification does not pertain just to pet foods. This morning’s alert covers products where there is a substantial chance you may have them in your pantry. And since I don’t know how else you would find out, I decided it was a good idea to announce it here so at least my blog followers can be protected.

General Mills is collaborating with health officials to investigate an ongoing, multistate outbreak of E. coli O121 that may be potentially linked to Gold Medal flour, Wondra flour, and Signature Kitchens flour (sold in Safeway, Albertsons, Jewel, Shaws, Vons, United, Randalls, and Acme). Out of an abundance of caution, a voluntary recall is being made. For more details, access the following.

And just so you won’t be disappointed about not seeing any darling kitten photos, how about this one?  This is a photo of Maggie’s kittens that will be going to their forever homes in two weeks.  Sara and I walked in the room to start a photo session and there they were!  We would never have been able to get all five of them to pose like that – glad it was their idea!

Nothing like a basket of kittens to remind us of the wonder of God’s creation. Thank you Nancy.
