Cats and Wine Make Life Better

What a pleasure it is to live in the Siberian Cat world!  Today was one of those days that remind us how fortunate we are to be surrounded by wonderful Siberian cats and kittens and the beautiful people we have in our lives because of them.

Bright and early this morning (bright and early for the Bathurst family is anything before 10:00 a.m.!) we presented Chad with his new family member, Boris.  Deanna and Chloe were excitedly waiting to welcome Boris to his forever home.

Chad put a blanket over the carrier in preparation for taking Boris out in the cold. Aunt Lily thought if she lay on top, maybe Boris could stay here.

I then had the pleasure of meeting Cindi and Mike for the first time.  They were here to  see if Mike’s allergies would be triggered by one of our Siberians.  We were all happy that he showed no reaction so they decided to join our waiting list in anticipation of getting a future kitten and becoming a member of  the Semper Fi family.

If you are reading our website and my blog for the first time and wondering if you or someone you know might be able to tolerate a Siberian because you have heard they are hypoallergenic, let me say…yes, many of our kittens are successfully living in homes where someone is allergic to cats.  However, there are some people who still have a reaction. Siberians are not miracle cats. I believe someone is working on that but so far, it is not a reality! Hypoallergenic means less, not none. We hope you first look to Siberians for their beauty, intelligence and personality.  And as a side benefit, with a few suggestions we give you to help with allergies, you too may be able to have the joy of bringing one of these amazing kittens into your home.

Next on today’s agenda was a visit from our beloved kitten assistant, Kiki, and her mom Sara and her friend Jenna.  They came bearing gifts – one for each of the cats!  What a fun time we had seeing the cats’ reaction to all the new toys.

And then we were presented with the perfect gift:

Yes, cats and wine do make life better!

Our last visitor of the day was Jim who came to pick up Orange Julius.  You may remember seeing Julius in a previous post. He is now 6 months old and gorgeous! They wanted our vet to do his neutering so we were happy to have the opportunity to keep Julius for a few days.  Jim (my Jim!) was sad to see him go – they had become fast friends!  Julius literally lived in Jim’s office while he was here so he was never far away from his buddy.

It is now time for me to call it a day. I think I will find Jim and the two of us will each have a glass of wine. Thanks Sara!

Merry Christmas to each and every one. May the blessings of this season be with you and your family.

I believe Rasputin has desensitized me to cat allergies. I can actually walk into the cat area of the animal shelter where Vicki volunteers with no sneezing and no rash.

Nancy, This is a very well organized blog. The cats are quiet beautiful. Our cats are a bit odd, but then, so are we. Cheers to you and Jim. Tad

Sinerians bring so much joy! I regularly send pics of ours to a few fellow cat lovers who’ve in turn shared with people we don’t even know who remarked “who’s beautiful cats are these and when can I meet them?!” We also have friends lining up to cat sit when we go out of town. Lincoln and Sophie are loved by many. We are eternally grateful to Jim and Nancy for bringing them into our lives ❤️❤️❤️

Wow all those kitties are so cute and adorable, Nancy I love that tree, where you got it? Is cute and something I was looking for since Maya would be knocking the tree if I put one. Enjoy that wine and have the best Christmas ever. Thanks for sharing .
